The author wrote with a group of writers twice a week in order to complete My Island Cafe. The fictional authors in the book strive for one thousand words every fifteen minutes, which is a lot, especially since they wrote by hand. In real life, authors can write very fast, especially in the first draft. Some call it the vomit draft. : )
